Green Manufacturing And Recycled Shutters In Miami

We provide window treatments containing some recycled content or are recyclable because we believe in sustainable shutter products. Not only are Polywood® shutters a fully recyclable shutter, but they also contain up to 20% recycled Polywood content. No other shutter company in Miami – or the States – does that.

Sunburst supports green design, products, and buildings. We reuse any and all materials whenever we can. We recycle water used to cool items when they’re finished in the ovens. We reuse packaging supplies. We reuse shutter scraps – or regrind them and recycle them into new shutters. We recycle hundreds of tons of materials every year.

When we package our window treatments to be transported to your home for installation, we place reusable corner pieces on the sides of the louvers and use as little cardboard as possible to pack up the shutters.

Non-Toxic Paint Finish For Shutters

Our plantation shutters are coated with patented paint finishes that are environmentally safe – and are even lower than the normal volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions allowed. In our manufacturing process, our paints don’t emit fumes. When we say our paints are safe, we mean it.

Polywood Shutters do not give off harmful gasses – so you and your household can breathe easily and savor your window treatments.

The Only Shutter Recycling Program in Miami, FL

If you ever want to switch your window treatment styles, we provide a shutter recycling program in Miami to keep Polywood shutters out of landfills. You simply have to take down the shutters at your own expense, and call our store manager, David, at 305-520-7515 to arrange a pick-up. We will pick up your shutters and reuse some part of them in future Polywood shutters. This applies to Polywood shutters only—we don’t recycle other shutter brands.

This way, you can recycle Polywood shutters at no cost to you. And, together, we’re aiding in keeping the environment green in Miami.
